Job summary

Echo Electric, a Sonepar brand, is seeking an Application Controls Specialist to join our Normal, IL team. You’ll craft electrical system designs, generate BOMs, and program PLCs, HMIs, sensors and VFDs for projects, while supporting estimates and customer communication.

You will design prototypes, assist on-site startups, and coordinate schedules, with a focus on delivering robust control solutions and quality results from our Normal branch.

Qualifications

• College education in Engineering, Technical studies, or related fields with experience.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to multitask, manage workloads, be detail-oriented and problem solve.
• Able to communicate across levels and gain trust within a team.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics, layouts, system designs and drawings for projects.
• Produce a bill of materials for assigned projects.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety, SCADA, wireless and VFDs as required.
• Assist with estimates and quotations for projects.
• Design prototypes, proof of concepts and provide technical assistance.
• Conduct startups, commissioning and debugging on site.
• Assist with project schedules and coordination.
• Prepare and assemble documentation for internal and external needs.
• Maintain knowledge of products, solutions and services; respond quickly with accurate information.
• Identify opportunities to gain customer interest in additional solutions.
