Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead the hardware aspects of controls projects from concept to electrical system design. You will design, validate, and implement control solutions for material handling systems, program PLCs, and support on-site installation and commissioning.

You will collaborate with vendors, develop BOMs, and help evolve electrical standards while traveling up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

1+ years of relevant experience in material handling industry preferred.
AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN experience required.
Experience with electrical schematics, control panels, and layouts.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Lead controls electrical designs and assist with implementation for material handling systems.
Design electrical systems, including field device placement, control panel layouts, and electrical schematics.
Select components, design networks, develop BOMs, and validate equipment.
Program PLCs and oversee commissioning, debugging, and validation.
Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support during installation.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain controls and electrical design standards.
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate emerging materials handling technologies.
