Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, test, troubleshoot, deploy, and commission automation and SCADA systems. The role blends engineering design with hands-on field work and requires experience with PLC/DDC programming, SCADA platforms, and system startup.

You'll develop design documents, run site surveys, create test procedures, and support bids and field commissioning. Travel to customer sites and occasional on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Automation Engineering with 2+ years’ experience.
• Experience with Woodward Controls/PLCs and ladder logic.
• Proficiency in ladder logic and structured text programming.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical/control schematics and plans.
• Experience with SCADA startup, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop design documents for small projects and support larger programs.
• Create CAD drawings, control panels, layouts, wiring, and SCADA screens.
• Prepare specifications and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Develop testing procedures and support comment resolution.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, DDCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare cost estimates for projects.
