Job summary

Complete Control Solutions is a small systems integrator delivering engineering and industrial automation solutions. We seek a Controls Engineer who can program PLCs, troubleshoot in the field, and keep projects moving. Training for leadership is possible for strong performers.

Core responsibilities include SCADA/PLC/HMI/VFD work, startups, customer training, and field support. Expect travel up to 50% and on-site collaboration with customers in a small team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Software/Electronics Engineering/CS (or related field).
• 3–5 years in Controls/Automation or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, and VFD programming software.
• Comfort with analog signals (0-20mA, 4-20mA, 0-10VDC, etc.).
• Familiar with NEC basics.
• Solid computer skills and some networking knowledge.
• Able to read electrical schematics, layouts, one-lines, and identify components.
• Self-starter, team player, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
• Bonus points for knowledge of function blocks, safety controllers, servo drives, or protocols like Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP.

Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Read, write, and edit PLC, HMI, and VFD programs.
• Perform startups, customer/end-user training, and field troubleshooting.
• Verify upstream and downstream process interlocks.
• Handle equipment upgrades and retrofits.
• Work directly with customers (phone, email, in person).
• Answer technical support calls.
• Build control panels and, on occasion, work on the shop floor.
• Draw schematics, layouts, one-lines, and components in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Generate BOMs and other documentation.
• Keep drawings up to date and accurate.
• Travel about 50%.
• Document your work clearly (saves headaches later).
• Other tasks as needed in a small team.
