Job summary

Valtris Specialty Chemicals in Fort Worth, TX seeks an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to oversee instrumentation, process controls, and MIS systems at the local site. You will troubleshoot PLC hardware/software, develop ladder logic and HMI interfaces, and lead instrumentation projects with production engineers.

Responsibilities include designing control systems, updating P&IDs, and ensuring safety, quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of Instrumentation, process controls, and HMI systems experience.
• Ability to respond to call-outs and work extended hours onsite/remotely.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, ladder diagrams and manuals.
• Willingness to learn information systems such as site security, networks and PCs.
• Must understand PLC/HMI systems and develop PLC code and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and program various control systems.
• Develop ladder logic and graphical interfaces for PLC and control computers.
• Create documentation for control programming and interlocks.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging tech.
• Provide training and support for I&C initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and install process devices (VFDs, sensors, valves).
• Lead instrumentation projects and coordinate with engineers.
• Create and update SOPs for control systems/HMI.
• Assist with IT and site security related tasks.
