Job summary

EmployBridge seeks a hands-on Controls Engineer to support automation in slitting, blanking, and coil processing operations. You will design, program, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems, partnering with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Responsibilities include programming PLCs, developing HMI applications, diagnosing electrical issues, and supporting upgrades and installations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems and industrial networking.
  • Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Manufacturing experience within metal processing or high-speed production environments preferred.

Job description

We're seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support and enhance automation systems within slitting, blanking, and coil processing operations.

About the Role

This role is responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial control systems while partnering with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems
  • Develop and support HMI applications
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues

Required Skills

Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, experience with industrial automation systems and industrial networking, knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems, ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Preferred Skills

Manufacturing experience within metal processing, stamping, coil handling, steel processing, or other high-speed production environments preferred.
