Job summary

World Class Manufacturer near Oneida, NY seeks a Controls Engineer to design and implement machine control systems. You will work with AutoCAD for hardware sizing, select VFDs and motors, program Allen‑Bradley PLCs and Siemens controls, and lead installation and commissioning across multiple sites with travel.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience with PLCs, HMI, AutoCAD, and NEC/machine safety standards. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

BS or higher in Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
Experience with PLCs, HMI and AutoCAD.
Familiarity with NEC and machine safety standards.
Authorized to work in the US without restriction.

Responsibilities

Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, selecting VFDs, motors, filters and protection devices.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic; support Siemens controls.
Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new equipment across local facilities (~30% travel).
Provide hands-on electrical/controls troubleshooting, diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time issue resolution.
Modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements.
