Genie Matthews and Associates seeks a Controls Engineer for a World Class Manufacturer near Oneida, NY. The role involves designing and integrating machine control systems, programming AB PLCs, and leading installation and commissioning of equipment across local facilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, with AutoCAD, PLCs, HMI, and NEC/machine safety knowledge. This on-site position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standards.
• Eligible to work in the US without restriction indefinitely.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine control systems with AutoCAD, including sizing of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs and HMIs.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic; support Siemens controls.
• Lead installation, integration and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (≈30% travel).
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting to maintenance teams, including diagnostics and real-time issue resolution.
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to improve production and operations.
