Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an Engineering Specialist, Controls to lead problem solving for tooling, equipment, and conveyor performance across plants. You will coordinate resources, validate fixes, and program new automation installations, while reading electrical prints and modifying AutoCAD drawings.

The role requires PLC/CNC expertise, networking knowledge, and a strong lean/process-improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with PLC/CNC systems and control networks is required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
• Coordinate resources to identify root cause and validate fixes; determine validation methods.
• Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots.
• Read and modify electrical prints, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols.
