Job summary

Gentex is seeking a Controls Engineer II to develop, deploy, and improve automated manufacturing systems at its Zeeland, MI facility. The role emphasizes PLC programming, robotics applications, and integration of electrical and pneumatic schematics.

Qualifications

• A 4-year Engineering degree or equivalent controls engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years designing, programming or integrating automated equipment.
• Experience with robotics applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs and software for new and existing equipment.
• Create electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated systems.
• Evaluate hardware and software for automation equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers to standardize solutions across equipment.
• Support manufacturing by training staff during launches and updates.
• Research and develop new automation solutions.
