Job summary

Sortation Labs, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead advanced control projects, including PLC/HMI programming, panel design, and on-site installation. The role requires strong design skills and the ability to mentor entry-level engineers while supporting multiple project phases.

The candidate will read specifications, design control layouts, troubleshoot devices, and coordinate with the team to ensure successful commissioning and after-sales support. Travel is expected up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in PLC programming and control device networks.
• Ability to read specifications and contract drawings and develop designs within standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand AC/DC control systems and read component cut sheets.
• Design electrical diagrams/layouts for power and control distribution.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs.
• Support field installation, startup, and after-sales support.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Communicate project status clearly, both verbally and in writing.
