Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA) is expanding its De Soto, Kansas site and seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to lead medium-sized projects, drive process and equipment improvements, and mentor junior engineers in a high-volume lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong technical leadership, ability to work cross-functionally, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing/engineering field is required.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Advanced certifications or training in automation, controls, or manufacturing systems integration are a plus.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading cross‑functional teams is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium-sized process improvement, equipment upgrades, or automation projects within a high-volume lithium-ion battery environment.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers; serve as escalation point for technical issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Controls, and Engineering to align on strategy and execution.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM field
