Job summary

ITAC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead small multi-discipline teams developing new optical fiber manufacturing equipment, targeting improved product attributes, reduced costs, and higher manufacturing output.

You will specify, integrate, test, and validate controls hardware and software, collaborate with equipment design, deployment, and manufacturing receivers, and contribute to the full development lifecycle from concept to field deployment.

Qualifications

B.S. Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics with 2+ years manufacturing experience.
Strong knowledge of PLC, motion control, and safety devices.
Experience integrating field devices into an overall controls package.
Familiarity with control panel layouts and schematics.

Responsibilities

Identify concepts for control of manufacturing equipment; design, build and test concepts as an individual and in teams.
Specify, integrate, test, and validate controls hardware and software.
Collaborate with equipment design, processing deployment, and manufacturing receivers during later stages of technology development.
