Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer in North Carolina to support the manufacturing of optical fiber. You will develop and maintain PLC programs and provide controls and automation support for production equipment and processes.

Work with the technical staff to resolve daily production issues, assist in commissioning new equipment, ensure proper backups of programs, and uphold safety and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 guidelines while pursuing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science required.
Experience with programming Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Schneider, and/or Siemens PLCs.
Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work with little supervision and pursue continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain PLC programs utilized by production and facilities to control manufacturing processes and support equipment.
Provide controls and automation support for the manufacturing of optical fiber.
Work with technical staff to resolve daily production issues related to equipment or control software.
Support commissioning of new equipment for production and ensure proper backups of programs and critical files.
Comply with safety procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 HSE guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.
