Job summary

Milwaukee-area industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a Controls Engineer to design electrical controls, program PLC and HMI systems, and support projects from concept to startup. You will develop electrical drawings, maintain bills of materials in ERP, and provide lifecycle support including troubleshooting, upgrades, and diagnostics.

Proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal is required; travel ~20% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of related experience, or equivalent qualifications.
• Proficiency with electrical controls design and PLC/HMI programming.
• Experience with panel design, UL508A, and industrial networking is preferred.
• Approximately 20% travel to customer sites.

• Design electrical controls and program PLC and HMI systems for automated industrial equipment
• Support projects from initial concept through shop testing, virtual commissioning, and customer startup
• Develop electrical drawings and maintain bills of material and part information in an ERP system
• Provide lifecycle support, including troubleshooting, upgrades, diagnostics, and software revisions
• Requires proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal and applicable HMI software
• Associate or bachelor’s degree with three to five years of related experience, or equivalent qualifications.
• Approximately 20% travel
• Experience with panel design, UL508A, industrial networking, robotics, vision, RFID, and digital-twin experience are preferred.
