Our Sterling Heights, MI-based client is seeking a Controls Engineer to join the Engineering Department supporting Manufacturing Operations. The role focuses on designing, modifying, and supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production systems, including Siemens HMI and Rockwell PLCs.

The engineer will troubleshoot, read schematics, and integrate equipment with plant-wide control systems. Startup, commissioning, debugging, and validation activities are required to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong electrical controls engineering abilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLCs and plant networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and support automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs for Rockwell ControlLogix and related platforms.
• Develop and support HMI applications and operator interfaces.

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer , you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting Manufacturing Operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Pay Range: $35-$40Hourly

What’s the Job?

• Design, modify, and support automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs using Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and related platforms.
• Develop and support HMI applications and operator interfaces.
• Integrate manufacturing equipment with plant-wide control systems and industrial networks.
• Perform startup, commissioning, debugging, and validation activities on new and modified equipment.

What’s Needed?

• Strong experience with Siemens HMI and industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet).
• Electrical controls systems and troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience supporting automated assembly, robotics, conveyance, or manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
