Job summary

Jobot is a global leader in industrial applications with offices worldwide. We seek a Controls Engineer to design and improve control systems, implement HMI/PLC logic, and optimize production with Lean methodologies.

You will collaborate with engineers and operations teams, handle documentation, and explore Industry 4.0 advancements to boost efficiency and reliability across automated systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in a Controls Engineering role supporting manufacturing.
• Ladder Logic and Allen-Bradley PLCs exposure; GuardLogix preferred.
• Robotic systems proficiency.
• Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with 480V power and integrative automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems to boost production efficiency and quality.
• Implement and modify HMI, PLC, and robotic logic.
• Test, maintain, and modify existing systems to optimize operations.
• Update electrical schematics and operation documentation.
• Collaborate with design, operations, and purchasing teams.
• Apply Lean principles to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform maintenance to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
• Explore IoT, Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing advancements.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing new control systems and strategies to improve production efficiency and product quality.


• Implement and modify HMI, PLC, and robotic logic.


• Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems to optimize operations.


• Update and maintain documentation for electrical schematics and operational instructions.


• Collaborating with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff.


• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.


• Perform maintenance and updates to maximize system reliability and efficiency.


• Explore advancements in IoT, Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing for better automation and connectivity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.


• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a Controls Engineering role supporting manufacturing.


• Expertise in Ladder Logic and Allen Bradley PLCs; GuardLogix experience is preferred.


• Proficiency in robotic systems.


• Strong electrical and electronic system troubleshooting capabilities.


• Preferred proficiency with tools including PanelBuilder, RSView 32, FT View, VisionWare, MotionWare, RSLogix (5, 500, 5000), Studio 5000, Ignition, Fanuc RoboGuide, Cognex Vision Tools, Keyence Vision Tools, and AutoCAD is preferred.


• Experience with 480V electrical power is required.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
