Job summary

Intellectt INC is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to support industrial automation, PLC programming, equipment commissioning, and troubleshooting in New Jersey. This onsite contract role offers hands-on experience across automated systems and control projects.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of controls/automation exposure, familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000, and a solid ability to read schematics and troubleshoot controls issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, or related field.
• 1–3 years of Controls/Automation experience or hands-on internship/project.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000.
• Basic understanding of HMI, sensors, VFDs, motors, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics and troubleshoot controls issues.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support PLC programming and modifications using Allen-Bradley / Studio 5000.
• Assist with HMI development and troubleshooting.
• Support equipment commissioning, startup, and testing.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, motors, VFDs, and control systems.
• Assist with machine and process automation improvements.
• Read and update electrical schematics, I/O lists, and controls documentation.
• Work with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Support continuous improvement and automation projects.

Pay Rate : $30-45/hr on W2 ( DOE )
