General Mills Buffalo plant is hiring a Controls Electrician Tech for 8-hour rotating shifts. Starting pay ranges per competency, with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role offers vacation, holidays, 401(k) match, and health benefits, along with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience including machine repair.
• Must be recognized as a Controls Technician by General Mills Buffalo Standards.
• Experience with 480V industrial wiring and troubleshooting.
• PLC programming, troubleshooting and instrumentation.
• Experience with AB PLC platforms; Servo control systems; Robotic controls.
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts.
• English communication in workplace.

Responsibilities

• Support, create, integrate, troubleshoot and improve a variety of processing/packaging control systems including Wonderware and PLC.
• Read and update electrical and control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and control modifications.
• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment.
• Perform uptime and downtime preventative electrical maintenance.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Assist other plant areas as assigned.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 8-hour shift - shift schedule rotation every 5th week


• 1st shift: 7 am to 3 pm


• 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm


• Every 5th week shift rotation from 1st shift to 1 week on 2nd shift (may be longer, if needed)


• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed


• Plantoperates24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of our manufacturing team, you will:

• Supporting, creating, integration, troubleshooting and improving a variety of processing/packaging controls systems including Wonderware, and PLC.


• Reading and updating electrical and control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams


• Providing technical support/skills for troubleshooting equipment and controls/equipment modifications


• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components


• Performing both uptime and downtime preventative electrical maintenance


• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance


• Assistother plant areas as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED


• 3-5 years (minimum) of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including machine repair and troubleshooting


• Must be recognized as a Controls Technician by General Mills Buffalo Standards


• Electronic knowledge with 480v industrial wiring and troubleshooting experience


• PLC programming, troubleshooting and instrumentation


• Experience with AB PLC platforms; Servo Control Systems; Robotic Controls Systems


• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts


• Mustpossessthe ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplaceregardingwork matters (our business isgenerally conductedin English)


• Ability tolift upto 50lbs


• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods


• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions


• Ability to climb and/or work at heights whileutilizingstairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms


• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards


• Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net,gloves,and face masks (whenrequired)


• Ability to work around high-speed machinery and foodallergens

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Manufacturing or production experience


• HMI experience, Wonderware or Rockwell Panelview preferred


• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
