Position Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting the automation and control systems that operate industrial manufacturing equipment. The role serves as a key technical resource for process controls, troubleshooting equipment issues, reducing downtime, and optimizing manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation & controls design, installation, programming, and troubleshooting: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and process control loops.
• Diagnose and resolve control system failures.
• Implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Improve automation through advanced process control alarm management and operator interface optimization.
• Document system changes, upgrades, and modifications.
• Manufacturing support: Serve as first-line technical support for automation-related production issues. Recommend equipment and process improvements. Ensure control systems support safe and efficient production operations. Perform and support preventative maintenance activities.
• Project & technical leadership: Manage assigned automation and controls projects. Work with outside vendors and technical representatives. Train maintenance and engineering personnel on controls systems and troubleshooting. Serve as a technical resource for mechanics and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience focused on: Control system development, installation, troubleshooting, and automation systems support.
• Knowledge, Skills & Competencies PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably Allen-Bradley or Siemens. PC-based HMI development and support. Industrial automation and systems integration. Electrical system troubleshooting: 480VAC power systems, 24VDC control circuits. Understanding of: Electrical engineering fundamentals, mechanical systems, controls engineering. Experience with PLC hardware: CPUs, I/O modules, communication modules, safety relays. Proficient with multimeters and electrical test equipment.

Physical or Work Requirements

Performs work in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion throughout the shift. Employees may be required to operate machinery or powered equipment, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving equipment, or manufacturing materials, and lift or move materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds. Some roles may require overtime, shift work, weekends, or extended schedules based on business needs.

National Target Base Pay Range: $94,000.00 - $156,000.00. The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $104,000.00 - $173,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.

Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) match, and other wellness benefits. Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime. Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
