Job summary

Pharmavite is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to maintain, improve, and support automation and control systems for industrial manufacturing equipment. You will be a key resource for process controls, troubleshooting, downtime reduction, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience focused on control system development, installation, troubleshooting, and automation systems support.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware (CPUs, I/O modules, communication modules, safety relays) and electrical test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, program, and troubleshoot automation and controls: PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and process control loops.
• Diagnose and resolve control system failures; implement permanent corrective actions.
• Improve automation through alarm management and operator interface optimization.
• Document system changes, upgrades, and modifications.
• Provide first-line technical support for automation-related production issues; recommend improvements.

The role serves as a key technical resource for process controls, troubleshooting equipment issues, reducing downtime, and optimizing manufacturing performance.Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation & controls design, installation, programming, and troubleshooting: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and process control loops.Diagnose and resolve control system failures. Implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Improve automation through advanced process control alarm management and operator interface optimization. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $104,000.00 - $173,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
