Job summary

Experis is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to join our client’s engineering team in a predominantly onsite role in Hopkinsville, KY or Clarksville, TN. The engineer will design, test, and deploy PLC logic across Rockwell platforms, configure Kepware for OT data, and lead on-site commissioning and testing.

The ideal candidate has strong skills in networking protocols, safety standards, and cybersecurity, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with

Qualifications

• Experience programming and commissioning Rockwell Automation control platforms.
• Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Kepware middleware and industrial networking protocols.
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis on hardware, logic, and communication failures.
• Strong understanding of machine safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061 / 61508) and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy PLC logic for ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix.
• Configure Kepware middleware for real‑time OT data and device communication.
• Perform on‑site commissioning, start‑up, loop tuning, and functional testing.
• Configure and troubleshoot EtherNet/IP, CIP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and Profinet.
• Maintain engineering documentation including electrical schematics, P&IDs, I/O lists, and network diagrams.
