Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across Georgia sites. You will drive PLC/HMI programming, support large capital projects, and partner with plant teams to optimize processes and performance.

You will evaluate emerging technologies, enhance control strategies, and collaborate with technical teams to develop scalable solutions for future manufacturing needs. The role involves on‑call responsibilities and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.

Responsibilities

Directs and supports electricians and plant staff in troubleshooting electrical problems on equipment.
Carries out automation tasks and identifies improvement opportunities.
Leads electrical scope on capital projects including budgeting, bidding, installation, and documentation.
Develops electrical standards and best practices for the division.
Drives process conformity from a controls perspective.
Supports 24/7 manufacturing operations, including on-call weekends and holidays.
