Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking an Automation Engineer/Technician to support and advance local process control implementations at the Chickamauga facility. You will work on Ignition SCADA, PLCs, and HMI integration, driving improvements through data analysis and collaboration with automation teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, mentoring maintenance staff, and leading energy-saving initiatives while aligning with Shaw's standards and safety practices in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• HMI/SCADA (Ignition preferred)
• PC hardware/software in industrial environments
• High School Diploma with 5+ years hands-on controls/automation experience

Responsibilities

• Support process control projects focusing on Ignition SCADA and PLCs.
• Design and implement capital and continuous improvement projects for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Bridge manufacturing operations and process control technologies using data.
• Own documentation: drawings, source code, procedures, spare parts, and lifecycle management of control systems.
• Mentor plant personnel and provide engineering support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Contribute to energy-saving initiatives and plant utility improvements.
• Collaborate with Shaw Automation Engineers and CIM teams to ensure standards.
