Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer to lead process improvements, support capital projects, and partner with plant teams across multiple sites. You will evaluate emerging technologies, strengthen automation strategies, and help develop new processes for the next generation of products.

The role requires hands-on engineering, collaboration across global teams, and the ability to influence major technical decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of PLC programming and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Directs and supports electricians and plant staff in troubleshooting electrical problems on equipment of varying size and complexity.
Carries out automation-related process improvement tasks and manages internal/external resources.
Oversees electrical scope of capital projects including budgeting, bidding, installation, and commissioning.
Maintains and develops electrical standards and best practices for the division.
Advances process conformity from a controls perspective across the division(s).
Supports 24/7 manufacturing operations including on-call and weekend work.
