Job summary

The Aperture Group is seeking a Controls Applications Engineer to provide engineering support for material handling project bids, focusing on delivering functional electrical and controls solutions.

You will collaborate with applications, estimating, engineering, and project teams to develop accurate proposals while ensuring designs balance functionality, customer requirements, and project costs.

The role emphasizes hands-on layout development and rapid turnaround within bid timelines.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with parcel handling, carton conveyor, and high-speed box sortation systems.
• Experience developing electrical design layouts based on mechanical layouts.
• Strong ability to interpret and navigate electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical and controls layouts over mechanical designs to support project bids and proposals.
• Ensure proposed material handling systems are functional, technically sound, and aligned with customer requirements.
• Evaluate electrical design requirements that impact material, installation, and overall project costs.
• Support the development of solutions for parcel handling, carton conveyor, and high-speed sortation systems.
• Collaborate with applications, estimating, engineering, and project teams to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Review drawings to identify design risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Deliver accurate electrical layout concepts within fast-paced bid timelines.
