The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in controls or retrofit engineering, a strong background in cost estimation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and teams to guarantee smooth execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a Controls Engineer or Retrofit Engineer, ideally in material handling.
• Experience in design and delivery of controls systems.
• Ability to estimate project costs and create proposals.

A large Material Handling Company is looking for a Controls Consultant/Estimator to lead the controls scope for sales bids and project delivery. The Controls Consultant will own the controls solution and costing for both new and retrofit projects, making sure bids are accurate and delivered on time. They will track estimated versus actual costs through KPIs, manage project risk registers, and support projects through key delivery milestones. In addition, this person will collaborate closely with customers, internal implementation teams, and external suppliers, support controls-related discussions, and provide clear specifications for control interfaces with third-party partners to ensure smooth execution.

• Own the controls solution and costing for both new and retrofit projects to ensure accurate bids and on-time delivery.
• Track estimated versus actual costs through KPIs and manage project risk registers.
• Support projects through key delivery milestones.
• Collaborate with customers, internal implementation teams, and external suppliers.
• Support controls-related discussions and provide clear specifications for control interfaces with third-party partners to ensure smooth execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a Controls Engineer or Retrofit Engineer in any field, ideally material handling; experience in design and delivery of controls systems.
• Ability to estimate project costs and create proposals.
• Able to travel up to 10% of the time to project sites.
• Desirable: experience in project estimating in material handling.
