We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager/Controller with expert-level proficiency in Sage accounting software to lead our financial operations. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strategic financial initiatives. As a Sage expert, you will play a critical role in optimizing our Sage systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Leverage advanced Sage expertise to configure, customize, and maintain Sage accounting software (e.g., Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage X3) for streamlined financial processes.
  • Lead Sage system optimization, including report customization, workflow automation, and integration with other business systems.
  • Provide expert-level training and support to accounting staff on Sage functionalities, ensuring team proficiency and adherence to best practices.
  • Perform financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of precision and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or controller role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Sage accounting software, with demonstrated experience as a Sage consultant, superuser, or system administrator.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced experience with Sage system integrations, customizations, and automation to support complex business needs.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations (e.g., [Specify Industry if Applicable]).
  • Experience in process improvement and financial system migrations.
