About the Opportunity

We are partnering with two profitable, rapidly growing, private equity-backed companies in the beauty care, manufacturing, and distribution industries to identify an experienced Controller / VP of Finance.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional who wants to take ownership of the accounting and finance function, partner directly with executive leadership, and help shape the next phase of organizational growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO/CFO, this individual will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash management, and compliance activities across both businesses.

The organization has recently made significant investments in improving financial processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controls. The incoming finance leader will build upon that foundation, drive operational efficiencies, and introduce additional automation and process improvements.

We are seeking someone who can operate strategically while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting and financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Leadership
  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations across two commonly controlled businesses.
  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of three accounting professionals responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions.
  • Maintain financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and financial compliance activities.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Cash Management
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and analysis to executive leadership.
  • Manage annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, cash flow, and working capital.
  • Prepare weekly cash management and banking reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and cash flow.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support executive decision‑making.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and automate financial processes.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities and financial controls.
  • Drive additional automation and process improvements within QuickBooks.
  • Learn and leverage SYSPRO ERP for inventory management and manufacturing‑related financial operations.
  • Develop scalable accounting procedures and reporting processes to support continued business growth.
Strategic Partnership & Team Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted financial partner to the CEO/CFO and senior leadership.
  • Take full ownership of the accounting and finance department.
  • Lead, develop, and support accounting team members.
  • Partner with operational leadership to improve financial visibility and decision‑making.
  • Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across both organizations.
