Job summary

The Pines at Davidson Inc. is seeking a Controller on a full-time basis to manage all accounting operations for our continuing care retirement community.

The role oversees GAAP financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and a dedicated accounting team, reporting to the VP/CFO. Qualified candidates will have a CPA (preferred), 7+ years in accounting leadership, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree required; CPA preferred.
• At least 7 years’ relevant experience, including as controller or with accounting management experience.
• Experience in healthcare, senior living, and/or not-for-profit is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and at least one accounting software application.
• Excellent interpersonal and professional oral/written communication skills are required.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Must be a team-oriented and self-motivated leader.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Ledger & Financial Reporting, bank reconciliations & cash monitoring/management.
• Lead Accounts Payable function, ensuring secure processes and timely payments.
• Lead Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate billing and timely collection.
• Maintain depreciation of Fixed Assets.
• Complete tax filings and tax payments, plus relevant third-party reporting.
• Produce monthly internal financial statements and quarterly/annual GAAP reports.
• Establish internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliant reporting.
• Coordinate annual independent audit and external/regulatory audits as needed.
• Maintain not-for-profit accounting and donor reporting.
