Vision Search Partners LLC is seeking a Controller for a boutique private equity firm. The Controller will report directly to the CFO, acting as the second-ranking accounting professional and overseeing a supporting accounting resource.
The role blends hands-on fund accounting with potential expansion into management company accounting, offering exposure to investor reporting, tax, audit, and firm-wide process improvements.
Our client is a boutique private equity firm with a decades-long track record of success which is raising its next fund based on the success of its active funds. The firm’s success reflects a disciplined, long-term investment approach and commitment to building stronger businesses. Its professional, flexible culture has also contributed to unusually long employee tenures.
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and serve as the second-ranking professional within the accounting function. This person will work closely with the fund administrator and oversee an additional accounting resource. The position combines hands‑on fund accounting, and eventually management company accounting, with broad exposure to investor reporting, transaction activity, tax, audit and firm-wide process improvement. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, highly organized and disciplined in managing deadlines, while proactively coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure required information is provided on time.
The incoming professional will receive a cash compensation package that includes a highly‑competitive base salary, bonus plan and benefits package. The role offers exposure to the full private equity accounting function, close mentorship from an accomplished CFO and meaningful opportunity to grow into broader Controller responsibilities.
Candidates will have a strong fund accounting background gained in eight-plus years serving the VC/PE sector as an employee, an auditor or an administrator. A background in more than one of those functions will be highly‑valued, but not required. Management company accounting experience will also be highly-desirable. Most importantly, candidates must have a strong desire to broaden both their contribution as well as their knowledge base.
