Job summary

Hoyleton Youth and Family Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions in a not-for-profit setting. You will oversee month-end close, prepare journal entries and financial statements, and manage staff under the Director of Financial Operations.

Responsibilities include budgeting support, variance analyses, reconciliations, and maintaining strong internal controls while ensuring GAAP/GAAS compliance and timely reporting to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• 3–5 years progressive accounting experience with staff supervision.
• Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and draft financial statements.
• Supervises accounting staff and provides guidance and feedback.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP/GAAS and organizational policies.
• Assists with budgeting, variance analyses, and cash flow monitoring.
• Maintains internal controls and prepares financial reports for leadership.
• Coordinates with departments to obtain documentation and ensure timely reporting.
• Participates in process improvements and reporting tool enhancements.
