CFS in Providence, RI is seeking a Controller for a nonprofit organization. This senior accounting leader will partner with leadership and program teams, owning financial operations and strengthening reporting, systems, and controls to support long-term sustainability.

The role offers a base salary of $125,000–$150,000 plus benefits and bonus potential, with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office). The ideal candidate has nonprofit accounting experience and MBA/CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Strong nonprofit accounting and compliance experience.
• Ability to lead close processes and manage a finance team.
• Clear communicator with hands-on leadership.

Responsabilités

• Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger and monthly/year-end close.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and program-level financial planning.
• Oversee GAAP compliance and audits, including Form 990.
• Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff while improving processes and controls.
