Job summary

CFS is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations for a $250M+ nonprofit. The role includes leading multiple finance teams, directing the monthly close, and driving integration after a merger.

You will manage grant allocations, program expenses, and intercompany transactions, partnering with executives on reporting and process improvements to strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit accounting, including grant allocations and program expense allocations.
• Strong leadership experience managing accounting teams and driving financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (LOOKUP, conditional formulas) and proficiency with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Direct the monthly close and financial reporting process for the nonprofit organization.
• Lead and mentor AP, GL, and budgeting/reporting teams.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and grant/program expense allocations.
• Coordinate audit preparation and respond to external audits; support accounting integration efforts after merger.
• Manage intercompany transactions and collaborate with executive leadership on financial improvements.
