CFS is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in Providence, RI, seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance function. This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong nonprofit expertise, proven team management experience, and a passion for supporting a mission-driven organization.

Hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site in Providence and a competitive salary up to $145,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package and strong

Competenze

• Must have nonprofit accounting experience.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience leading and developing a large accounting team.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and nonprofit accounting principles.

Mansioni

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
• Manage, mentor, and develop a large accounting and finance team, fostering accountability and professional growth
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant reporting requirements, and regulatory filings
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison to external auditors
• Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning efforts
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic guidance
• Oversee restricted funds, grant accounting, and funding source compliance
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of all required federal, state, and nonprofit reporting requirements
