Job summary

Safe Fleet’s Covering Solutions Business Unit is seeking a detail-oriented Controller to manage daily accounting activities, ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and support month-end and year-end closes. The role collaborates with Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering across 3 brands (Roll-Rite, Vango, Pulltarps) with onsite work flexibility between Verona, PA and Gladwin, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to travel up to 15% and flexible to schedule during key deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Facilitate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Execute the weekly payment run process with Accounts Payable.
• Support Operations Leaders with KPI reporting and cost-savings opportunities.
• Lead the weekly cash flow forecast.
• Perform financial analysis to identify trends and explain changes.
• Analyze assets, liabilities, and capital and prepare balance sheet and P&L reports.
• Assist the finance director with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Lead ERP-related projects and drive efficiency improvements.
• Ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Support audits and prepare audit schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including purchasing, operations, and engineering.
• Set standard costs for manufactured goods and overhead rates.
• Develop and analyze cost standards within budgeting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
