Randstad USA is seeking a hands-on Controller or Plant Controller, or an ambitious Assistant Controller ready to take the next step into a leadership role in Vineland, New Jersey. You will be part of a lean, busy manufacturing team and be actively involved on the plant floor, mentoring staff and ensuring tight financial controls.

The role covers general ledger close, product costing, audits, AP/AR, payroll support, and leading a small accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred but not required.
• At least 2 years of financial management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing planning/reporting software and advanced Excel/DB tools.
• Stable career history (4+ years) with promotions and growth.
• Self-reliant, energetic, proactive problem solver; able to build trust with leaders.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and month- and year-end close.
• Own product costing and provide financial analysis for programs, capex, and projects.
• Oversee cash controls, audits, and asset protection; enforce SOPs.
• Oversee AP/AR, vendor support, and payroll/benefits assistance.
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team for high performance.

Because we operate with a very lean, small accounting team, you won't just be reviewing numbers from afar-you will be an active, visible part of our daily operations. Responsibilities

• Personally manage general ledger activity, execute month-end/year-end close, and handle banking transactions and wire transfers.
• Own the product costing process and provide the critical financial analysis tools needed to evaluate manufacturing programs, products costing, capital expenditures, and special projects.

• Maintain cash controls, oversee company financial audits, and safeguard assets through robust internal checks.
• Keep us sharp by maintaining ISO 9001 procedures and following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Directly oversee day-to-day AP/AR operations, support vendor accounts, and assist with payroll/benefits administration.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire our small accounting team-fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

• At least 2 years of financial management experience, ideally combining major accounting services with hands-on manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience using manufacturing planning/reporting software systems and advanced spreadsheet/database tools.
• A career history that demonstrates stability (ideally 4+ years with a previous employer) and a proven track record of promotions.
• You are a self-reliant, energetic, and proactive problem solver who can build trust with senior leadership and direct reports alike
