Job summary

The Innovative CPA Group LLC, headquartered in Shelton, CT, seeks a Controller to lead financial operations and reporting for the firm. This role focuses on accuracy, controls, and strategic financial planning with executive-level visibility.

You will supervise the accounting team, drive month-end close efficiency, and manage cash flow, banking relations, and due diligence for growth initiatives. Hybrid work options are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least eight (8) years of Controller/CFO experience.
• Expert with QuickBooks Online.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and present monthly/annual financial reports including monthly profit and loss by location, forecast vs. budget by location.
• Assess and evaluate financial performance with regard to long-term goals, budgets and forecasts; provide growth recommendations.
• Lead financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including analysis of target statements and risk exposures.
• Supervise the accounting department to ensure proper function of systems, databases and software; maintain accounting systems and staff.
• Oversee the month-end close process and continuously improve procedures to remove inefficiencies.
• Manage cash flow planning and ensure funds availability; maintain banking relationships.
• Oversee weekly cash management and AP; approve large payables, sign checks, and authorize large wires/ACHs.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable management and oversee collections.

The Innovative CPA Group (ICG) is looking for a Controller to join our team in our Shelton, CT headquarters. The Innovative CPA Group is an employee-centric firm comprised of experienced tax and accounting professionals. Essential Responsibilities:

• Oversee and present monthly/annual financial reports including monthly profit and loss by location, forecast vs. budget by location, etc.
• Assess and evaluate financial performance of firm with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
• Lead financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including in-depth review and analysis of target company financial statements, key performance metrics, and risk exposures.
• Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise company financial staff.
• Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.
• Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
• Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.
• Oversee weekly cash management and AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks, authorize large wires and ACHs.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process.
