Job summary

Hoxton Circle on Long Island seeks a Controller to lead its accounting function amid growth. You will report to the CFO, owning day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and directing the transition from cash-basis to accrual-basis.

You'll build the monthly close, design reporting templates, and manage a small team delivering robust financial statements for commercial real estate assets, with budgeting and lender reporting focus.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Strong grounding in accrual accounting under GAAP and partnership accounting.
• Experience with property management accounting software (MRI a plus).

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and partnerships.
• Lead the transition from cash-basis to accrual-basis accounting, including monthly close and templates.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee lease accounting, CAM, tax and insurance recoveries, tenant reconciliations.
• Manage budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Maintain banking relationships, debt compliance, and lender reporting.
• Coordinate audits, tax schedules, and internal controls; develop staff.
