You will own the integrity of the organization's financial records, reporting, and cash management to enable scalable growth and new sales channels. You will partner closely with the CFO and lead a small accounting leadership team, working Onsite or Hybrid (open to Remote). This role influences board reporting, audit readiness, and financial strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Own the close. Run month-end end to end, including consolidation, with documented, repeatable processes and clear owner and reviewer assignments.
- Own cash forecasting and management. Build and maintain a reliable cash forecast that accounts for inventory and retail payment terms, giving the CFO a trusted forward view of liquidity for planning and board discussions.
- Own financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, disclosures, variance analysis, and board and management reporting, and mature the reporting process to an institutional standard.
- Build the control environment. Design and implement a SOX-style internal control framework covering reconciliations, review controls and segregation of duties.
- Lead audit readiness. Serve as the primary audit relationship and PBC owner across all areas, with clean, well-supported workpapers.
- Own technical accounting. Set and document defensible positions on revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory and COGS, and sales and use tax nexus.
- Scale through technology. Extend our NetSuite environment with automation and AI to handle growing transaction volume.
- Lead and develop the team. Assess the current structure, define the roles beneath this seat, and develop the accounting team.
