Job summary

NextPath Workforce Solutions is seeking a Controller to join our client's team in Winter Garden, FL. This is an onsite, direct-hire position.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting background, multi-entity experience, and proven leadership. You will oversee daily operations, manage month-end closes, and collaborate with auditors and tax professionals while mentoring staff and preparing for ERP implementation.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting foundation with a thorough understanding of debits/credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction tracing.
• Public accounting or audit experience, comfortable working directly with auditors and tax professionals.
• Experience managing multi-entity and multi-location accounting, including inter-company transactions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the accounting team's daily operations.
• Review and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions.
• Manage and prepare for month-end closing activities.
• Review transaction coding and ensure correct accounting treatment.
• Handle fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
• Support accounting for new leases and complex transactions.
• Identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies in financial data.
• Collaborate with auditors and tax professionals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff accountants.
• Help prepare the organization for upcoming ERP implementation.
• Improve accounting processes and documentation.
• Support M&A-related accounting activities.

SALARY: $130,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)

Requirements

• Strong technical accounting foundation with a thorough understanding of debits/credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction tracing
• Public accounting or audit experience, comfortable working directly with auditors and tax professionals
• Experience managing multi-entity and multi-location accounting, including inter-company transactions
• Proven ability to lead as a player-coach, overseeing and mentoring staff while remaining hands-on
• Expertise in month-end close processes, identifying missing or incomplete items, and improving manual close workflows
