Bell & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Controller with government-contract and manufacturing accounting experience. This is an in-office position in the eastern Kansas City metropolitan area.

Qualifications

• Government-contract accounting experience is required.
• 5–7 years of manufacturing accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting, and internal-controls knowledge.
• Experience participating in or leading an ERP implementation.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Strong leadership and business-partnering skills.
• Hands-on, approachable, collaborative, and low-ego working style.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Strengthen accounting processes, policies, and internal controls.
• Improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and analysis.
• Enhance management reporting, KPIs, and operational visibility.
• Support accounting-system and ERP improvement initiatives.
• Partner with executive and operational leadership.
• Lead and develop the accounting team.
• Coordinate with external tax and professional service providers.

My team and I at Bell & Associates is conducting a search for a Controller with government-contract and manufacturing accounting experience. This is a primarily in-office position in the eastern Kansas City metropolitan area.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions while helping improve processes, systems, controls, and financial visibility. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity with broad exposure to the business and the ability to make a meaningful impact within a growing, privately held organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Strengthen accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
• Improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and analysis
• Enhance management reporting, KPIs, and operational visibility
• Support accounting-system and ERP improvement initiatives
• Partner with executive and operational leadership
• Lead and develop the accounting team
• Coordinate with external tax and professional service providers

Qualifications

• Government-contract accounting experience is required

• Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Plant Controller, or Accounting Manager
