Confidential Manufacturing Company in the Kansas City area is seeking a Controller to manage accounting and financial planning for a growing manufacturing business. You will partner with senior leaders to drive accurate reporting, FP&A, budgeting, and risk management.

The role requires a strong CPA/CMA background, 7+ years in manufacturing, ERP experience, and the ability to move toward a CFO role within seven years. Competitive compensation and performance bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA/CMA highly preferred.
• MBA in Finance/Accounting a plus.
• Minimum +7 years in a Manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as an accounting manager or plant controller preferred.
• Experience implementing and managing ERP systems (major ERP platforms a plus).
• Experience with multiple currencies and multiple companies/locations preferred.
• Strong work ethic and initiative; ability to communicate with senior management and external partners.
• Advanced Excel and database mining skills.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills.
• Ability to move into the CFO role within 7 years.

Responsibilities

Location: Kansas City Metro Area, Missouri

Overview

This position reports to the CFO of a growing manufacturing company and is responsible for managing the accounting and financial planning and analysis for the company overall. The Controller will partner with functional leadership positions across the organization, focusing on all key accounting, financial, and operational aspects of the business. This position will focus not only on accurate and timely accounting but proactive financial analysis including key performance indicators that will drive continuous improvement and manage risk.

Major Responsibilities

The Controller is responsible for all accounting and financial management in accordance with GAAP and includes balance sheet and income statement management; financial planning and analysis; payroll management; cash and liquidity management; contract performance and pricing analysis; forecasting; budgeting; and company asset and risk management. The Controller will utilize the company's ERP system and business intelligence tools to maximize financial visibility, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization. The Controller is also responsible for supporting timely and accurate quarterly reporting to relevant external parties along with the annual audit by an independent CPA firm.

Education And Experience Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Accounting
