Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Controller-level finance leader to partner with Operations, develop teams, and drive better business decisions across Florida.

You will connect financial performance to day-to-day operations, lead forecasting, and strengthen financial processes to support growth. The role targets deep accounting and reporting expertise, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

As we continue expanding across Florida and the Southeast, we’re building relationships with experienced Controller-level finance leaders who know how to do more than report the numbers. We’re looking for people who understand the business behind them.

Our Controllers play an important role in connecting financial performance with the day-to-day operation of our business.

You may find yourself partnering with operational leaders, analyzing business performance, developing forecasts, strengthening financial processes, leading finance professionals, and helping teams understand where opportunities exist to improve.

At Coastal, Finance isn’t simply reporting what happened. It helps the business understand why it happened and what we do next.

What Great Looks Like

We’re interested in experienced finance leaders who bring:

• Strong accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical experience.
• Experience leading and developing accounting or finance professionals.
• The ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
• Strong operational and business acumen.
• Experience partnering with senior business and operational leaders.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial systems.
• A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to ask questions, challenge thinking, and drive accountability.
• Experience working within multi-location or operationally complex organizations.

Experience in waste and recycling, transportation, logistics, environmental services, construction, or other operational businesses is a plus.

CPA, MBA, and bilingual English/Spanish capabilities are also valued.
