Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking an accomplished Controller/finance leader in Florida to connect financial performance with day-to-day operations. You will partner with operations, lead a finance team, and help translate numbers into actionable decisions across multiple locations.

Ideal candidates will bring strong accounting and forecasting expertise, advanced Excel, ERP experience, and a collaborative, results-driven leadership style.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical experience.
• Experience leading and developing accounting or finance professionals.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
• Strong operational and business acumen.
• Experience partnering with senior business and operational leaders.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial systems.
• Collaborative leadership style with accountability.
• Experience in multi-location or complex organizations.
• Experience in waste and recycling, transportation, logistics, or environmental services is a plus.
• CPA, MBA, and bilingual English/Spanish capabilities are valued.

The Opportunity

Our Controllers play an important role in connecting financial performance with the day-to-day operation of our business.

You may find yourself partnering with operational leaders, analyzing business performance, developing forecasts, strengthening financial processes, leading finance professionals, and helping teams understand where opportunities exist to improve.

At Coastal, Finance isn’t simply reporting what happened. It helps the business understand why it happened and what we do next.

What Great Looks Like

• Strong accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical experience.
• Experience leading and developing accounting or finance professionals.
• The ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
• Strong operational and business acumen.
• Experience partnering with senior business and operational leaders.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial systems.
• A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to ask questions, challenge thinking, and drive accountability.
• Experience working within multi-location or operationally complex organizations.

Experience in waste and recycling, transportation, logistics, environmental services, construction, or other operational businesses is a plus.

CPA, MBA, and bilingual English/Spanish capabilities are also valued.
