Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $144,000.00 Salary/year

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Willapa Harbor Hospital is seeking a collaborative and experienced Controller to join our leadership team. This position plays an integral role in supporting the hospital's mission by ensuring sound financial management, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls. The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting functions. Responsibilities include oversight of the general ledger, month-end close process, and preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of Medicare cost reports, coordinating external audits, and completing required financial reporting for regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and department leaders, the Controller provides financial insight through budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives that support informed decision-making across the organization.

The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as an important partner in maintaining the hospital's long-term financial health and operational success.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance or related field required. CPA designation preferred.

Experience

A minimum of three (3) years of Controller experience is required. Experience in rural healthcare or a critical access hospital environment is preferred.

Additional Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with healthcare financial reporting and Medicare cost reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership, department managers, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
