The Controller is responsible for the integrity and oversight of NEW Health's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, payroll accounting, grant compliance, and audit activities. The position ensures accurate financial information is available to support organizational decision-making, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability. The Controller provides operational leadership for accounting functions and develops processes that safeguard organizational assets and support achievement of organizational objectives.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA license or CPA candidate preferred. Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience required. Experience in healthcare, nonprofit accounting, grant management, and audit coordination preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices. Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and nonprofit accounting principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to interpret regulations and apply financial standards to complex situations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel
