Job summary

Pinnacle Search in San Francisco seeks a hands-on Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a private equity-backed, high-growth field-based services company. This is a highly visible role based in SF with on-site time in the East Bay (3–4x/week).

You will own all accounting functions, drive month-end close, GAAP reporting, and partner with operations and project teams to scale financial infrastructure and controls.

Must be based in SF and willing to spend time onsite in East Bay area 3-4x/week.

Key Qualifications

• Controller or Assistant Controller experience with full ownership of the accounting function
• Direct POC/WIP accounting experience in a project-based or field services environment
• Strong GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting expertise
• Hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality with the ability to build processes
• Experience partnering with operations and project teams
• Private equity, high-growth, or acquisitive company experience preferred
