Job summary

Venteon is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial reporting and compliance for a growing Royal Oak, Michigan-based operation. The role requires GAAP expertise, manufacturing or industrial experience, and proven supervision of remote teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, 7–10+ years of accounting experience, and CPA/CMA is preferred. This is a high-visibility position with a strong opportunity to influence cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory or Controller role experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Experience in manufacturing, recycling, supply chain or industrial operations.
• Management of remote teams.
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Oversee all general ledger activities, monthly close, and preparation of financial statements
• Monthly financial reporting package for internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Analyze profitability by key services offering facility locations
• Manage key financial metrices such as operating costs
• Assist the CFO with annual budgeting process, develop rolling forecasts
• Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships
• Supervise accounting staff; provide coaching and performance management
• Improve financial systems, accounting workflows and reporting accuracy

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
