Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's day‑to‑day finance and accounting operations.
• Oversee general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Manage and ensure timely completion of month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for executive leadership and other stakeholders.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and nonprofit requirements.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures.
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, infrastructure, and financial workflows.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop members of the finance and accounting team.
• Partner with executive leadership and operational teams to provide meaningful financial insight and support decision‑making.
• Explain complex financial information in a clear and accessible manner to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and financial reporting.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast‑paced and evolving organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Significant experience in nonprofit accounting and finance.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Experience managing and developing finance/accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial management systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial information for non‑financial audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• High degree of integrity and ethical judgment.
